I found Sam online and worked with him over the course of a year. I started and stopped a few times but Sam stuck with me the entire time. He was incredibly patient and flexible in his approach. He catered to my learning style and needs, which was necessary given I had to re-learn a lot of basic math.
Studying for the GMAT for me was not easy and Sam kept me accountable and positive. I had a trouble staying engaged and focused as I got frustrated but he stuck with me and encouraged me. His material is appropriate, concise but covers ALL topics. I felt we covered all aspects, there were no surprises on test day.
Tutoring with Sam was an enjoyable process. I was accepted this week to ESADE, Spain with Sam's support, which was my first choice. I would 100% recommend Sam's services for anyone who wants to excel at the GMAT!

The Graduate Management Aptitude Test (The GMAT) is conducted by The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). GMAT was created in 1953 by the GMAC and the first GMAT was administered on February 9, 1954. The GMAT is computer adaptive and has evolved over the years. GMAC claims that the exam measures skills that are important to business and management programs. Scoring a high GMAT score is a prerequisite for applying to most of the top global business schools. The exam is offered throughout the year in over 600 centeres located in over 110 countries. Over 2400 institutions and universities around the world use the GMAT to make intake decisions for over 7700 academic programs. From April 2020, the GMAC has started offering online GMAT. Both in-person GMAT and online GMAT have the same format.
From November 7, 2023, The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has introduced the next generation of the Classic GMAT known as The GMAT Focus. Business environment has constantly been evolving. In order to adapt with the skills that are relevant to success in graduate management programs and executive decision making, GMAT Focus has been introduced. The GMAC has retired the classic version of the GMAT from January 31, 2024. The only version of the GMAT available from February 1, 2024 is The GMAT Focus. The scores of the classic GMAT will remain valid 5 years from the test date.
Including an optional break of 10 minutes, the total duration of the GMAT Focus exam is 2 hours and 15 minutes. The total number of questions is 64, and the aggregate score range is 205-805 in 10 points increments. All 3 sections of the exam are weighted equally, and use the same scale of 60-90 in 1 point increments. The following table exhibits the structure of the GMAT Focus exam.
All sections of the GMAT focus are computer adaptive. It implies that the difficulty level of the questions in these sections adapts in real-time to a test taker’s performance in the previous questions. Each section starts with somewhat medium difficulty level question. A correct answer leads to a more difficult question, but an incorrect answer leads to an easier question.
The GMAT Focus provides the flexibility to bookmark the questions as test takers move through a section. Upon answering all questions in a section, a test taker can review the bookmarked questions, and can change up to 3 answers per section.
A test taker can choose the sections in any order. Upon completing the exam, a score report is provided. Detailed performance insights are included in each score report. A test taker can select academic programs within 48 hours of receiving the score report in both online and in-person versions of the exam. Each official score report of the GMAT Focus contains only one exam score.
The GMAT is designed to test the skills that are required to make sound real-world business and management decisions. MBA admissions process is well rounded. In addition to the GMAT score, schools consider academic and professional background, motivation to pursue an MBA as exhibited in essays, recommendation letters, and the examples of accomplishment, leadership, and career progression as displayed during interviews.
